Ok Taec-yeon, widely recognized as Taecyeon, is a prominent South Korean rapper, singer, actor, and entrepreneur. Born on December 27, 1988, in Seoul, he spent his formative years in Boston, Massachusetts, moving there at the age of 12. After completing his middle and high school education in the United States, he returned to South Korea during his senior year, eager to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. In 2008, he made his mark as a member of the popular boy band 2PM under JYP Entertainment, gaining widespread recognition for his dynamic performances.

Taecyeon’s acting career began in earnest in 2010 when he took on the role of Han Jung-woo in the drama Cinderella's Sister.
