Song Joong-ki (Hangul: 송중기; born September 19, 1985) is a prominent South Korean actor known for his significant contributions to both television and film. He gained widespread recognition in 2010 through his role in the historical drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal and as an original cast member of the variety show Running Man. His first leading role in a television drama came in the melodrama The Innocent Man (2012), and he achieved further acclaim with his performance in the box office hit A Werewolf Boy (2012). Following his mandatory military service, Song starred in the highly successful drama Descendants of the Sun (2016), which captivated audiences with a peak share of 38.8% in South Korea, solidifying his status as a leading figure in the Hallyu wave.
