Born on November 29, 1970, he began his career in theater before transitioning to film, where he rapidly gained fame for his compelling performances. Ryu's filmography includes landmark projects such as "War of the Arrows" (2011), "All About My Wife" (2012), and "Masquerade" (2012). His role in "Miracle in Cell No. 7" (2013) won him the Grand Prize at the 49th Baeksang Arts Awards, solidifying his status as one of Korea's leading actors.
